about the show

When Louise Maske's bloomers accidentally fall down in public, her husband Theo is convinced their respectable life is over. Instead, their apartment suddenly becomes the hottest address in town. The incident attracts two new potential renters to their home—a dashing poet and a hypochondriac businessman—both secretly infatuated with Louise. Oblivious to their romantic intentions, the budget-minded Theo agrees to rent their spare room to both men, alternating their stays to collect double rent.

What follows is a door-slamming riot of mistaken identities, romantic rivals, and the age-old battle between propriety and passion. From the brilliant comic mind of Steve Martin ("Picasso at the Lapin Agile"), this wickedly funny adaptation turns a 1910 German farce into comedy gold for today's audience.

Runtime: 90 minutes with no intermission.
